JEN Hotel Tanglin has a halal Ramadan buffet
Ramadan this year will run till 21 April, which means many halal restaurants in Singapore are offering iftar menus for those looking to break fast with their family and friends. One such restaurant is JEN Hotel Tanglin’s J65, which takes breaking fast to a whole new level with their award-winning Ramadan Iftar Dinner Buffet.
Available every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, the J65 Iftar Dinner Buffet promises an extensive spread of over 50 culinary delights, spanning a wide array of cuisines, from local eats to Ramadan favourites, Western fare to an all-new Korean spread.
The buffet is priced at $98++ per adult and $49++ per child aged six to 11 years old. Children under five dine for free with every paying adult.
J65 was dubbed the best buffet at the Halal Awards 2022 and it’s not hard to see why. The space is vibrant and beautifully decorated, with modern murals lining the walls and comfortable, dark wood furnishings. There’s also an open kitchen for you to watch the chefs in action.
The buffet spread will leave you spoilt for choice. For starters, there’s their extensive selection of fresh seafood on ice, including free-flow Boston Lobsters, Chilled Cooked Prawns, and Mussels.
In the spirit of Ramadan, the buffet also has a variety of seasonal staples, including their Marinated Roasted Whole Lamb Hyderabad Dum Biryani.
The lamb is marinated for 24 hours in 10 different spices before it is cooked with the spiced basmati rice, so you’re definitely signing up for a flavour bomb with this dish.
Swing by their alfresco station for free-flow currries.
Enjoy the curry with either the Roti Jala or Roti Prata, available on rotation.
There’s also a Nasi Kuku station, where you can feast on grilled Ayam Berempah with Pandan Rice to your heart’s content.
As mentioned earlier, the J65 buffet will also have a selection of Korean dishes, all prepared by their Korean guest chef Park Won Wook.
Get unlimited servings of spicy, QQ Tteokbokki and sweet-salty Japchae noodles. There’s also Haemul Pajeon packed with scallions and other veggies, cooked till charred just so.
Don’t forget to dig into local delights such as their Baby Lobster in Singapore Chili Crab, where sweet baby lobsters are tossed in chilli crab sauce, or their DIY Laksa, available at their noodle station.
You can also choose to customise your own Tom Yum Seafood Hot Pot with fresh shellfish, squid, and crabs.
Meat lovers can grab servings of Braised Black Angus Beef or Whole Baked Salmon from the carvery.
Finally, end off your meal with a selection of sweet treats, including cakes with a local twist, a DIY ice kacang station, Nyonya kueh, and ice cream sandwiches! On the drinks front, quench your thirst with bandung, teh tarik and plenty more.
Aside from the fact that the buffet is halal-certified, Muslim diners will be happy to know that there are male and female prayer rooms on-site too.
