Over the past couple years we’ve seen an old-school blanket make a comeback—perhaps most notably at Fforest, a former farm transformed into the ultimate Welsh country retreat, where Welsh blankets cover most every bed (and sofa, and chair).
We spotted the blankets recently in Fforest’s “garden shacks” and went on a quest to find a few of our own, perfect for pulling up at night when the temperature drops.

Above: Etsy is a great place to find Welsh blankets both vintage and new. This is the Prussian Loom & Bobbin Wool Blanket Throw Welsh Tapestry, Fair Isle Design, from Etsy seller The Weaving Shed UK; it’s $168.70.
Above: And the Woolen ‘Afon/River’ Blanket, Welsh Caernarfon Pattern, from Etsy seller Welsh Otter, starts at $195.31 for a throw size.
