Be sure to add these Easter calendar numbers to your collection of Easter activities for toddlers and preschoolers. You can use the Easter number cards to explore a wide variety of early math skills with your students.

I enjoy integrating preschool printables like these with my hands-on preschool activities. They add a bit of flair to what’s going on, and they’re easy to swap out for different seasons, holidays, and topics. The kids are drawn in with something that’s both a little bit new and a little bit familiar. Which ups the engagement all around!

Read on for some ideas on how to use the number cards in your classroom. And head to the bottom of the post to get your own set.

How to Prep the Easter Number Cards

You know what I like even more than engaging printables that can be paired with hands-on learning? Easy-to-prep printables that are engaging and hands-on! And these definitely fit the bill.

First, grab some supplies. You don’t need all of them, so choose your preferences:

And prepping the Easter number printable is super easy:

  1. Get the free Easter calendar numbers at the bottom of the post.
  2. Save it to your computer and open it in the most up-to-date version of Adobe Reader.
  3. Print.
  4. Cut the pages apart into individual number cards.
  5. Laminate
  6. Cut and use the corner rounder if you want to.

I know there’s a big “debate” in preschool teacher circles . . . do you cut, laminate, and cut? Or do you laminate and cut? I’ve always had the best luck with cutting, laminating, and cutting. But if you have a different method, go with that!

Using the Easter Calendar Numbers with Your Students

Now that the number cards are ready to go, it’s time to jump into the Easter math fun! As I already mentioned, these cards can be used in a multitude of ways. I’m not going to go into every possibility, or I’d be writing forever. So I’ll stick with some highlights.

One way to use the Easter calendar numbers is as . . . calendar numbers! They work well in both traditional and linear calendars.

Explore patterning by combining 2 or 3 different sets. Start the patterns for children who are just getting introduced to patterns, and then have the kids work together to add to your pattern. For kids who are pattern experts, challenge them to make more and more complicated patterns.

Pair the Easter number cards with a variety of manipulatives. Encourage the kids to count out the appropriate number of manipulatives next to each number card. For children just starting to explore one-to-one correspondence, I recommend beginning with just a few of the cards. And if you’re looking for some manipulative ideas, here you go:

Have the children practice numerical order by putting the Easter calendar numbers in order from 0 to 35. Challenge them to do it backwards if they’re ready for that.

Get extra fancy and add the cards to an Easter sensory bin. They can play a little game of hide-and-seek with the cards.

Or pair the numbers with a sensory writing tray of some sort. Have the kids use the number cards as visual cues as they practice number formation.

How will you use these Easter calendar numbers with your students? Tell me about it in the comments below.
